Corameo
Terms

What we both stick to

Not four pages of small print. This is what you may expect from Corameo, what we ask of you, what is your own responsibility, and how you get out again.

Who you are dealing with. Corameo is a sole proprietorship, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce, based in the Netherlands, and run by one person. You can reach us at info@corameo.com. If you need the registered address, for instance to send a registered letter, ask at that address and you will have it within a week.

These terms apply as soon as you create an account. What happens to your data is set out separately, in the privacy statement. Last updated 15 August 2026.

What Corameo is, and what it does not promise

Corameo is a questionnaire about how you stand in life, about closeness and about intimacy. First you get to know yourself. If you want it, the match pool can compare anonymously who fits you. And if you are already together, it is a way to discover each other again.

We commit to effort, not to an outcome. Corameo is a tool, not a guarantee. We undertake to deliver the service with care: the list, the comparison, the shared space and the mail around it. We expressly do not undertake that you will find someone, that a conversation will lead anywhere, or that a relationship will come of it. In legal terms: this is an obligation of means (inspanningsverbintenis) and expressly not an obligation of result (resultaatsverbintenis).

What Corameo is also not. Not care, not therapy and not medical or psychological advice. The texts the site writes about you are a mirror, not a diagnosis. If something really weighs on you, find someone trained for it. In an emergency in the Netherlands call 112, or 113 where it concerns suicide.

Meeting each other is at your own risk

This is the most important provision on this whole page, so it is stated plainly.

Everything you do with another person outside the site, you do at your own expense and risk. Arranging to meet, calling, messaging, sharing your address, visiting someone, travelling, lending something, starting a relationship: those are your decisions. Corameo is not a party to any of it. We do not mediate, we do not supervise, we are not there, and we have no say over what two people agree, do or fail to do between themselves.

We are not liable for damage arising from that. Not for what someone says to you or spreads about you, not for disappointment, not for money you give someone, not for injury, and not for what happens at or after a date. If something serious goes wrong, report it to the police and let us know, and we will do what lies within our power about that person's account.

A few things that genuinely help, which we urge on you without making them an obligation: meet in a public place the first time, arrange your own transport there and back, tell someone you trust where you are and who with, do not share your home address straight away, and never send money. If something does not feel right, leave. You do not owe anyone a reason for that, us included.

We do not screen members in advance

Being honest about the limits matters more than being reassuring. Corameo carries out no screening. We do not check identity documents, we run no background or criminal record checks, we consult no registers, and we do not test whether someone is who they say they are. What a member tells you about themselves (their name, their age, their marital status, their intentions) is what they filled in themselves. We cannot vouch for it, so you must not assume that we have verified it.

What there is, so you know where you stand:

  • Logging in only works with a second step: a code by text message to a phone number that works. That makes throwaway accounts considerably harder.
  • Photos are reviewed before they count, and we ask for a check photo in a pose set that day, so a picture off the internet will not do.
  • A quiet signal runs on the first messages between two people, which recognises the known patterns of fraud and flags them to us.
  • Where there is abuse we step in: we ask for a new check photo, refuse a photo, or delete the account.
  • You can block a member yourself and report behaviour to us. Blocking takes effect at once and works both ways: you no longer see each other and no message can travel either way. A report reaches us with whatever you add yourself; the message that troubled you is only included if you tick the box.
  • What happens to a report: we look at it, usually within a few days. What we then do depends on what we see, and ranges from nothing at all to deleting the account. You are told that your report has been dealt with; what exactly we did about the other person we do not say, because that concerns someone else. Blocking is yours either way, and it stands whatever we decide.
  • If you report something you know to be untrue, that counts as misuse of the report function and we may end your account.

That is useful, and it is not a guarantee. Keep using your own judgement.

Your account

You are eighteen or older. Corameo is for members aged 18 up to and including 80. We ask for your year of birth and hold you to it; we do not verify it against an identity document. If someone turns out to be under eighteen, the account goes.

One account per person, with details that are true. Your name, your age and your photos are your own. An account cannot be transferred or shared: everything that happens in it happens in your name.

Your password is yours alone. Logging in uses a second step by text message, so we need a working phone number from you. If you think someone else can get into your account, change your password. That immediately ends all sessions, including those on other devices. Let us know afterwards.

What we ask of you

Corameo only works if people feel safe enough to be honest. So:

  • Someone else's boundary is a boundary. Including a soft one, including one you do not understand.
  • What you get to see of someone else (answers, notes, photos) is meant for you. You do not pass it on, publish it, or screenshot it to send around.
  • No asking for money, no investment stories, no gift cards, no "just help me out". Anyone doing that does not belong here.
  • No advertising, no recruiting, no reselling what you come across here.
  • No fake profile, no photo of somebody else, no account on someone else's behalf.
  • No threats, intimidation, discrimination or persistent contact with someone who does not want it.
  • You do not try to break into the site, drain it, or harvest it with automated tools.

If things go wrong. Where there is doubt we may ask you for a new check photo or refuse a photo. In cases of serious or repeated abuse we delete the account, with everything in it. If you come across someone behaving badly, mail us at info@corameo.com and say where it happened, and we will look into it.

Indemnity. If someone holds us liable for something you did, said or posted, you carry those costs and we do not. So you indemnify us against third party claims arising from your own conduct or your own content, and from breaching these terms or the law. That does not apply, of course, in so far as the claim is our own fault.

What you may expect from us

That the site works, that your answers are kept, and that they are handled with care. That we tell you in advance if something material changes. And that cancelling is as easy as signing up.

What we cannot promise: uninterrupted availability. Corameo is built and maintained by one person. It is updated regularly, usually for a few seconds, and your answers are already saved the moment you give them. Maintenance and faults are reserved, as is downtime at the parties we depend on, such as the server, mail, text messaging and the payment provider.

The service may change. Parts may be added, altered or removed. If something you are attached to disappears, you will hear about it beforehand. Were we ever to stop the service altogether, we will announce it at least thirty days in advance, you get ample time to collect your data, and we refund months paid in advance.

Trying it, and then membership

At the moment you pay nothing. Paid membership is switched off; you use Corameo free of charge. If that changes, you will hear about it well before it takes effect, and you decide for yourself whether you come along. What is set out below is what will apply then.

The trial period. You start with 365 days in which everything is open. That is a ceiling, not a floor: if a comparison with someone opens earlier, because your partner has answered the questions, the request to become a member comes at that moment. Earlier, then, never later.

The price. € 0,99 per person per month, cancellable monthly. You switch on the automatic payment with a single verification charge of € 0,99; that is needed to give the mandate, and only you can do it. You can pay by iDEAL and by credit card. After that the monthly amount is collected automatically. Membership simply continues month by month until you cancel; there is no annual contract underneath it and no renewal that ties you in.

Carrying on together costs two memberships. The shared part of the site belongs, by definition, to two people. Either you are both members, or one of you pays for both. If the payer stops later, the other person's membership continues and the payment moves to their own account.

If a collection fails. You then stay inside for 5 days, so you can put it right yourself. If that does not work out, the members' part locks. Nothing is erased, reading remains possible, and as soon as payment comes in everything opens again.

Even without membership you keep reaching your own things: your overview, your interim results, your letters and your booklet remain readable. Filling in further and the shared part sit behind membership.

Cancelling and leaving

You cancel yourself, on your membership page, with one button. It takes effect straight away: the automatic collection stops at that moment. No notice period, no second screen, no phone call. Your answers, your house and your booklet simply stay; you can start again whenever you want.

Cooling-off period. As a consumer you have fourteen days to change your mind after taking out the membership. If you cancel within those fourteen days and want the amount paid back, just mail us and we will refund it. You do not have to give a reason and you do not have to fill in a form. For the time after that: we do not refund a running month pro rata, and the amount is small enough not to make a game of it. If you disagree, mail us; we will sort it out.

How the refund works. If you tell us you want your money back, you get an answer within two working days and the amount is back on the account you paid from within fourteen days of your message. We use the same means of payment you used, at no cost to you. There is no form to fill in and no reason to give; an e-mail with your username is enough.

If the site is down for a longer stretch and you could not use what you paid for, we refund that part of the month or extend your membership by the same amount. You do not have to ask for that when we see the outage ourselves; do tell us if you think we missed something.

If we cannot work it out together you can put your complaint before a court. That stands apart from these terms and it is not a right we can take away from you. If you live in the EU, you can also use the European online dispute resolution platform.

Erasing everything is separate from cancelling, and sits on your overview page. It permanently erases your account and your data, immediately, with nobody in between. Exactly what remains after that, and why, is set out in the privacy statement.

We can end an account if these terms are seriously breached. Where the matter can be put right, we will ask you to put it right first.

Who owns what

Your answers remain yours. You only give us the right to use them to deliver the service: building your profile picture, comparing you with someone who wants that too, making your letters and your booklet. Not to sell them, lend them out or publish them anywhere.

The site itself is ours. The questions, the texts, the illustrations, the games and the structure were made by hand and remain the property of Corameo. You may use them for as long as you take part; copying or rebuilding them is not allowed.

If you write something in the "have your say" screen, we may use it to improve the site. You need expect nothing in return, and we do not put your name to it anywhere.

What we do and do not answer for

We do our best, and sometimes something goes wrong. Then this applies:

  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential damage. By that we mean, for instance, missed opportunities, lost income, wasted time, reputational harm and non-material damage arising from using the site.
  • We are not liable for what other members do or say, on the site or off it, and not for what happens at a meeting in the real world. See the provision about your own risk above.
  • We are not liable for damage from a fault, from temporary unavailability, or from data lost through something beyond our control, although we do everything to prevent it, with a backup every night.
  • Where we are nevertheless liable for something, that liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before. If you paid nothing in that period, a maximum of € 250 applies.

What we expressly do not exclude or limit. These limitations do not apply in cases of intent or deliberate recklessness on our part, and not to damage from death or personal injury. Nor do they ever limit the rights you have as a consumer under the law, including your right to a sound service. Where a provision above conflicts with mandatory consumer law, the law wins and the rest simply keeps applying.

Force majeure

If we cannot keep our side of the bargain because of something we reasonably cannot help, we are not liable for that while it lasts. Think of downtime at the parties we depend on (server, network, mail, text messaging, payment provider), power or internet failures, cyberattacks, government measures, and prolonged illness or death of the person who builds the site. Corameo is made by one person, so that last one is not a theoretical provision.

If such a situation lasts longer than thirty days, either of us may end the agreement. If you paid in advance for a period you did not get as a result, you get that back.

The last few things

A complaint goes to info@corameo.com. You get a substantive answer from a human being within fourteen days. If that does not work out once, we will tell you within those fourteen days why and when you can expect it. Making a complaint costs you no rights whatsoever: even if you complain later, all your rights remain intact.

If these terms change you will hear about it at least thirty days before it takes effect, by e-mail and on this page. If you disagree, cancel before the effective date and nothing changes for you. Changes never apply retroactively.

Dutch law applies. If we cannot work it out together, the dispute can be put to the competent court in the Netherlands. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you keep the right to choose your own court and you keep the protection of your own consumer law.

If one of these provisions turns out not to hold, the rest simply keeps applying and we replace that one with something as close to it as possible.
